Reminiscing…with the Art Deco Personalized Clock!

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Many thoughts come into my head when I read, talk, or simply think about the 1920s, the 30s, the 40s, the 50s, and the movement that went along with it. It is very interesting through a personal view to look back at what made the era of the 1920-50s such an emotional period (through a cultural and historical point of view). Many people came to associate this time with Jazz Music, Film Noir but most of all what I came here to point out, Art Deco. Putting 2 and 2 together you would assume that I am simply just trying to sell a product, but the backhand to this is that I wished to in form a little bit about the culture surrounding Art Deco and how this form of expression has lead the way for designers to create a very unique product, for which this is the Art Deco Personalized Clock. First off, this isn’t another run-of-the-mill clock, but it is a form of expression in your part towards your guests as much as it was for the people who followed this art design movement between the 20s towards the 50s. You can make it a personalized wall clock. Imagine your personalized clock for your home, as a gift, or even for the office. Each attractive, quartz, precision art deco clock is 14″ in diameter. Behind the sleek, front frame are florescent lights that illuminate the entire personalized clock, enhancing its bold, retro charm and feel. Overall, its easy to mount and even easier to adore! Hang it up, where you feel a touch of retro decor is needed and it will easily grab people’s attention with whichever color suits that particular room. Ranging from kitchens, to offices or even a bedroom, having a clock as this with a touch of personality is always a guaranteed plus.

Simply peaceful- expressing oneself with tie dye tapestry

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Yes those days have gone by, but the notion of displaying one’s support for the world-renown Peace sign…or Nuclear Disarmament for that matter can still be fully expressed with tapestry with historical and cultural roots. You could tell me that displaying tie dye wall hanging tapestry featuring the Peace sign may be too much on the hippie side, but in this day in age…can we really be judgmental about such group? Our society is much more liberal now than any time before so how bout giving it a shot and putting up a design that, through my perspective, is truly psychedelic but yet comforting and relaxing once one is withing that environment. For example being surrounded by the perfect combination of matching colorful decor that can be provided by any items in the collection of Electra Lamps (my personal favorites the Sitting Buddha, or the Mist Dragon) adds a whole lot of radiance to an otherwise dull room. My bedroom has lightened up significantly with the combination of other great decorative pieces that compliment greatly Wall Hanging Tapestry, specifically speaking about awesome LumiSource Decor; and while you’re at it, why not throw in some Retro Decor/Furniture that can assist with those less than necessary but yet very pleasing needs as a Margarita and Frozen Drink Machine…mhmmm freshness, I love it. Peace!

The Nostalgia of reliving the past…in tin!

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Can there be a greater feeling? After one event has come by and passed, and if came to be something that greatly impacted our lives, we all know that in the coming months we greatly reminisce of how great that moment in time truly was. We think about it deeply and look for ways to relieve those moments, and sometimes we can find the solution in simple objects that carry a deep meaning related to the past event. And of course as Generations specializes in reliving and reconnecting with the past and the great experiences of the 1960s and 70s, there can always be something that can rekindle that flame of those years in which the hippie movement was shun by many in a society that had been adapted to conformity, represented perfectly in the Hippie Use Side Door Tin Sign. Additionally how could anyone forget, or in this case forget to mention, any such popular tin signs as the ones used during the early 1900s such as the famous Pepsi-Cola Bottle.

Enjoy a cool Pepsi-Colaand share this with your friends:

Wait, you’re saying clocks can be cool?

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Wait, you’re saying clocks can be cool? Tell me more about the Roller-Rink Luncheonette…

Ok so you may say to yourself, how much fun could a measly clock be? Yes I know that most of you will go on and say that you cannot find anything intriguing, interesting or not even a dash of excitement in a clock. We all have come to know your everyday clocks, yes the ones that have the three hands and that move so slow that it seems time may very well be infinite. Can we not all recall sitting down in math class staring at the clock and seeing time go by slower than a herd of turtles stampeding through peanut butter? For some, clocks represent all that is boring bottled in the shape of an object nicely sealed with a chrome finish. But you happen to be in the right place at the right time. If time is slow enough as it is, why not encourage oneself to purchase that right clock that can add excitation to an otherwise boring wall. Take for example, the 3D Neon-Diner Roller Girl Clock, a prime example of the magic of the 50s. Putting together some totally hip 50s fonts, the iconic carhops and delicious 5c soda pop; this is an unforgettable piece which for the people of this era was an unforgettable experience.

There are many types and styles of curtains made from a variety of materials including acrylic, wood, glass, bamboo, shells, plastic beads, hand painted bamboo, faux metal beads, mirrors, crystals and gemstones. These beaded curtains will provide either a casual or an elegant touch to any doorway/bedroom and can also be more large-scale including special decoration which could complement weddings, corporate events, and trade shows. Specifically depending whether you go for acrylics with intricate designs such as Emerald Cut Beaded Curtains, Faux Metal Balls Steel Gray Beaded Curtain, or works of art as the hand painted Bamboo curtains specifically majestic ones as the Waterfall Bamboo Beads, Sunset Palm Tree, Parked on Beach. These wonderful additions to your home have very practical functions; these can be to cover a whole doorway or be used as a room divider by hanging them on each side of a space between two rooms. These Beaded curtains can be used as window curtains, bed curtains or canopies. It is possible to also use them to partition a room into two sections, to separate a sleeping area, or home office.
As we mentioned how practical these beaded curtains are, we would like to share a photograph of one of our customers, Indra Rami from ramismandap.com that proficiently took advantage of its many uses, here in a wedding scenario.
